fairies and rock stars
look what arrived on saturday! the fairy doll that mimi made for me. she is absolutely exquisite! i feel bad because all that she's getting in exchange is a pair of gloves! her work is really beautiful. she has some dolls and other lovely creations for sale in her etsy shop.
attention knitting shop owners, if you are in the baltimore / philadelphia / nyc area and would like to host a book signing for Yarnplay sometime in september / october / november please email me. i'm planning on going back home for a visit (i've lived in all 3 cities) sometime in the fall and would love to hang out, meet some knitters, and sign a few books.
as long as there are rock stars on reality tv, i will never get away from the tube. my latest discovery is 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels'. i was never into KISS, nor have i been a fan of Gene Simmons (when it comes to aging rock stars i'm more of a Bowie or Jagger kind of girl.), but i think i love this. i think Shannon Tweed is pretty fabulous and their kids certainly come across as the happiest, most sane celebrity kids on reality tv. but, oh my god, Gene Simmons' hair is truly frightening! wtf?
that's all i have to report. well, that and the fact that it rained this morning for the 1st time in 3 weeks. waking up to 75 degrees felt like autumn considering it's been in the triple digits for almost a month!

she's adorable!! i love her hair...and her dress is amazing!

She looks lovely sitting on that chair!
Now I'm reminded of how embarassed I'm feeling about my lack of progress on our swap- it is on my increasingly shorter list of things to do before our wedding though, so there is hope soon!
